Al-Azhar Al-Sharif said that Islamic law affirmed that self-preservation is its highest goal, and that facing life’s challenges with patience and faith is the path to salvation.

And via a post on a page Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on the social networking site “Facebook”, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif added: Hence, the “Psychological Support Unit” at Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa in the Al-Azhar Sheikhdom played an important role in providing sincere advice and helping young people to overcome pressures from a religious perspective that takes into account all the psychological factors surrounding the person. You can communicate with the unit via the hotline 19906, or visit the unit’s headquarters in the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Sheikhdom.

For its part, Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa confirmed that seeking comfort in suicide is an illusion, and it is a major sin, and the true believer knows the reality of the trial that may carry evil in one way, and carry good in other ways, and that this world is a house of testing and suffering, and that the afterlife is the house of reward and stability.

In a statement, Al-Azhar said to the fatwa: Islam made self-preservation one of its first and highest goals, to the point that it permitted a person to have intercourse with a forbidden person in case of necessity. To preserve his life and protect it from destruction, Islam came to do this in accordance with normal human nature and supports it, so it was strange for a person to violate his nature and end his life with his own hand. Thinking that this would end his pain and problems, but the truth is otherwise; The believer knows that this world is a place of passage, and that the afterlife is the place of eternity and stability, and that death is the beginning of eternal life, not its end, and that the afterlife is a place of reckoning and reward, and that this world is nothing more than a place of testing, temptation, and suffering.
