The National Theater presents King Lear
The National Theater, led by Dr. Ayman Al-Shiwi, presented the play King Lear on the second day of Eid al-Fitr, on the stage of the National Theater in Ataba, at exactly nine o’clock in the evening.
This comes within the plan of the Theater Technical House, affiliated with the Theater Sector, headed by director Hisham Atwa.
Dr. Ayman Al-Sheiwi, director of the National Band, confirmed that this show reflects the theater’s commitment to presenting distinguished artistic works that carry high cultural and artistic value, to meet the aspirations of the audience in celebrating national and religious occasions through theatrical performances that combine authenticity and contemporaneity.
This show comes as one of the most prominent theatrical experiences that re-presented the immortal Shakespearean text with a contemporary artistic vision, providing the audience with the opportunity to enjoy one of the masterpieces of the English writer William Shakespeare as part of the National Theater’s celebrations of the blessed Eid al-Fitr season.
