US President Donald Trump added the definition of the interim president of Venezuela to his account on Truth Social, in a move that sparked widespread controversy.
Trump and the American attack on Venezuela
US President Donald Trump said that the United States is “the one leading” matters in Venezuela after the arrest of Nicolas Maduro, but he indicated that he is also dealing with the new interim leadership in Caracas.
“We are dealing with people who have just been sworn in,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One when asked if he had spoken to interim Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez. Don’t ask me who is responsible because I will give you an answer and it will be very controversial.
When asked what he meant, he said: This means that we are the ones driving things in Venezuela.
