Banha Sports Club witnessed a celebration to honor 215 competitors, sons of club members, who won the Holy Quran Memorization Competition, which is being held for the seventh year in a row, in the presence of a number of executive and religious leaders and public figures in the governorate. Dr. Iman Rayan, Deputy Governor of Qalyubia, stressed that interest in memorizers of the Holy Qur’an represents a real investment in human development, noting that supporting such initiatives contributes to instilling religious and moral values among young people and youth, and enhances the role of community institutions in raising generations that are aware and committed to their identity.
For his part, Representative Hani Shehata, a member of the House of Representatives, said that honoring memorizers of the Holy Qur’an is a tribute to the values of science and morals on which Egyptian society is based, stressing that supporting such competitions reflects a real interest in building a conscious and enlightened generation capable of carrying the message of religion and morals in society.
He added that these activities represent a message of appreciation to every family keen to raise their children to memorize the Book of God and adhere to its teachings.
Representative Hani Shehata affirmed his happiness with sponsoring the Holy Qur’an competition organized by the Banha Sports Club for the children of the club’s members who have memorized the Qur’an, noting that sponsoring such events comes from a belief in the importance of supporting youth and youth and encouraging them to adhere to religious and moral values, explaining that memorizing the Holy Qur’an contributes to building a balanced personality capable of serving society and the nation.
Dr. Musabah Al-Kahili, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banha Sports Club, said that the club is keen to organize this competition annually based on its community role, stressing that the club’s role is not limited to sports activities only, but extends to include supporting cultural and religious activities that contribute to building children’s personalities and developing their positive values.
He added that the continuation of the competition for the seventh year reflects the great success it has achieved and the increasing demand among the children of club members to participate in it.
In his speech, Dr. Abdul Rahman Radwan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Qalyubia, pointed out that the blessed month of Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an, in which Muslims’ connection to the Book of God is renewed through recitation, memorization, and contemplation, stressing that encouraging children to memorize the Holy Qur’an is one of the greatest actions that contribute to building humanity and instilling tolerant values and high morals in the souls of young people.
He added that the competition this year witnessed wide participation from the children of club members, as 215 contestants were honored at various levels of memorization, from memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an to memorizing one part, explaining that the winners received certificates of appreciation and in-kind prizes, in addition to financial prizes worth about 100 thousand pounds, as part of encouraging children to devote themselves to memorizing the Book of God.
