Sadness fell over the people of the village of Dermwas in Minya Governorate, following the death of the young man Alaa Mustafa, a supermarket seller, as a result of several stab wounds at the hands of a person, while he was working in the Giza area, on New Year’s Eve.

One of the victim’s friends said, in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that the entire village has been experiencing a state of shock and sadness since hearing the news, stressing that Alaa was a struggling young man who was loved by everyone, and he left his village in search of a halal living, before he was killed in a tragic incident.

He added that the accused would constantly visit Alaa’s workplace and create disputes with him for no reason. He would take cigarettes from him and refuse to pay for them. He pointed out that this incident was not the first, as the accused had previously caused repeated problems with the victim. Rather, the matter reached the point of washing a “tuk-tuk” in front of the shop to spark a dispute.
The victim’s friend explained that Alaa was preparing to go on vacation to spend time with his family, especially since his wife was about to give birth within a few days, but fate did not give him the time to leave, leaving behind a wife waiting for her baby, a heartbroken family, and an entire village in grief.
