Prices gold In Egypt, amid the New Year celebrations, there was a noticeable decline, as the price of gold recorded at the beginning of trading today, Sunday, January 4, 2026, with respect to the price of a gram of 21 carat gold – the best-selling gold in Egypt – 5885 pounds.

It is worth noting that gold began its trading in January 2025 at the level of $2,624 per ounce, then recorded a gradual rise during the first quarter of the year, closing the month of March at $3,089.58. With the advent of April, the upward momentum accelerated, bringing the price to $3,348.31, before the market entered a limited correction phase during the months of May and June without changing the general upward trend.
With the start of the second half of the year, gold consolidated its gains supported by increasing demand for safe havens in light of escalating global risks. After successive increases during the months of July and August, the price jumped in September to $3,833.11 per ounce.
In October, gold succeeded in breaking the $4,000 per ounce barrier for the first time in its history, in a move that reflected a clear shift in the appetite of investors globally. The rise continued until it reached its peak in December, after the ounce recorded an unprecedented record level of $4,549.98, before ending the year near the level of $4,331.
