Sources explained to Cairo 24 that the Siemens company implementing the project; It has already received a letter from the Ministry of Transport to begin all technical studies in order to examine the possibility of implementing an increase in the speed of the high-speed train in Egypt in accordance with international technical standards.
Draft comes Express electric train Within the state’s plan to create an integrated network extending across the governorates of the Republic, with the aim of facilitating movement between cities, reducing pressure on traditional roads, and reducing pollution rates resulting from carbon emissions.
High-speed electrical grid lines in Egypt
The rapid electrical network includes 4 main lines with a total length of about 2,000 kilometers, linking the cities of Upper and Lower Egypt, passing through industrial and tourist areas, including Ain Sokhna, Alexandria, New Alamein, Matrouh, Aswan, and Luxor, to be development arteries extending throughout modern Egypt.
The operating, control and signaling systems are currently being tested using the latest German technology from the international company Siemens, which is implementing the project in partnership with a number of Egyptian companies specialized in construction and installation work.
The express electric train is distinguished by its speed of up to 250 km/h, with an interior and exterior design that keeps pace with the latest safety and comfort standards, in addition to smart operating systems for automatic speed control and stopping.
The high-speed train also relies on clean electrical energy, which makes it an environmentally friendly means of transportation that contributes to achieving sustainable development goals and reducing harmful emissions.
