For the sixth day in a row, the efforts of the rescue teams of the Civil Protection Department in Fayoum Governorate continue, in an attempt to recover the bodies of victims of the collapse of an illegal excavation pit in the village of Al-Saidi, affiliated to the Fayoum Center, under the supervision of Major General Mahmoud Hamdy, Assistant Director of Fayoum Security for Public Security.

The details of the incident are due to the receiving devices Security There was a report that 3 people, including two brothers, had fallen into a deep hole during secret excavations for antiquities inside a vacant plot of land in the village. Immediately, security and civil protection forces moved to the site of the accident, and a strict security cordon was imposed, and the excavation tools used were seized.
A source explained that the search operations face great challenges, most notably the continuous rise in the level of groundwater flowing into the hole, in addition to the instability of the soil, pointing out that the depth of the hole began at about 12 meters, before it was gradually deepened to reach approximately 30 meters, in an attempt to reach the bodies of the victims.
Investigations revealed that the accident occurred on land owned by an electricity conductor, who used the victims to excavate antiquities using primitive means, which led to dust collapsing on them.
After codifying the procedures, the security services arrested the landowner and another person involved in the incident, prepared the necessary reports, and notified the Public Prosecution, which initiated investigations.
