I witnessed Fish prices Today, Friday, January 2, 2026, there is relative stability in the markets, as the price of a kilo of first-class tilapia ranged between 61 and 65 pounds, while the price of a kilo of white shells reached between 190 and 290 pounds.

According to data from the Obour Wholesale Market, the prices of the most traded fish are as follows:

Tilapia: first class between 61 and 65 pounds, second class between 54 and 60 pounds, Aswan tilapia between 30 and 80 pounds, tilapia fillet between 75 and 275 pounds.

Peel and white: Peel white between 190 and 290 pounds, smooth white 1 (local) between 150 and 250 pounds, smooth white 2 (Gulf – Lake Nasser – farms) between 80 and 140 pounds.

Shrimp

Shrimp: Jumbo shrimp between 975 and 1,175 pounds, shrimp 1 between 860 and 960 pounds, shrimp 2 between 720 and 820 pounds, squid and calamari between 250 and 400 pounds.

Frozen fish

Frozen pasta between 30 and 60 pounds, frozen coral between 30 and 60 pounds, frozen bourbon between 30 and 60 pounds, frozen sardines between 30 and 70 pounds.

Crustaceans and crabs

Crab between 50 and 180 pounds, Alexandrian branise between 75 and 145 pounds, Gulf pasta between 75 and 125 pounds, Swiss pasta between 75 and 145 pounds.

Other popular fish

Catfish and shellfish between 30 and 70 pounds, eels between 100 and 600 pounds, blacksmith between 30 and 60 pounds, bourbon 1 between 250 and 310 pounds, bourbon 2 between 170 and 230 pounds.

Dennis between 275 and 425 pounds, Musa between 250 and 400 pounds, Buri 1 between 180 and 240 pounds, Buri 2 between 100 and 160 pounds, and Qar between 150 and 350 pounds.

Wholesalers said market activity was stable at the beginning of the new year, and prices reflected the balance between supply and demand without any sudden increases.
