Poultry prices in the local markets recorded a state of remarkable stability with the beginning of trading today, Saturday, March 21, 2026, coinciding with the second day of Eid al-Fitr, as the price of a kilo of white poultry to the consumer ranged between 100 and 105 pounds, with slight variations due to the nature of geographical regions and mechanisms for stimulating demand in the market.
Price per kilo of chicken
Some companies witnessed a decline in price levels, with white poultry recording about 85 pounds, while Sasso poultry prices stabilized at 100 pounds per kilo.
Regarding other types of birds, the prices of turkeys ranged between 140 and 150 pounds per kilo, while the prices of ducks recorded levels ranging between 130 and 140 pounds, noting the continued reliance on imports to cover the gap in local turkey production.
The chick market also witnessed relative stability, with prices ranging between 11 and 12 pounds, supported by the stability of production input costs during the current period.
This balanced price scene comes as a result of the government’s ongoing moves to support the poultry wealth system, through the expansion of integrated production projects and opening new export horizons to foreign markets, especially the Gulf countries.
These efforts aim to enhance the sector’s ability to meet local needs and achieve the required balance between production volume and consumption rates, ensuring price stability for citizens.
