The Fayoum Media Complex held an extensive meeting under the title “Community Awareness and Protection of the Homeland,” within the framework of a campaign to enhance national awareness and consolidate the values of belonging, under the slogan “Together with awareness, we protect the homeland,” and in the presence of a number of executive, military, and educational leaders, along with a group of young people and school and university students.

The meeting comes within the national security axis of the sector strategy Media The Ministry of Internal Affairs, under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Ahmed Yahya, Head of the Internal Media Sector, with the aim of strengthening the cohesion of the internal front and raising youth awareness to confront current challenges, especially with regard to rumor wars through social media sites.
At the beginning of the meeting, Marwa Ihab Abu Samida, development media coordinator at the complex, stressed that creating awareness and enlightening thought represent the first line of defense in facing intellectual and media challenges, stressing the necessity of building sound awareness and strengthening confidence between the state and youth, while adhering to national identity and pride in Egyptian values.
For his part, Mohamed Hashem, Director of the Fayoum Media Department, explained that the internal media sector plays a pivotal role in raising community awareness through awareness campaigns and direct communication with citizens, calling on young people to actively participate and confront defamation attempts targeting the state, stressing that the stability of the nation is a red line that cannot be compromised.
In turn, Major General Staff Dr. Ashraf Mazhar, lecturer at the Military Academy for Postgraduate and Strategic Studies, expressed his happiness at participating in the meeting, pointing to Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting security and stability in the region, in light of the current challenges and changes, stressing the importance of enhancing community awareness through a balanced media message capable of confronting false information.
Mazhar also reviewed the mechanisms for shaping awareness, which include the social and cultural environment, education, media, and technology, in addition to the importance of developing critical thinking and community participation in building a conscious society capable of facing challenges.
In the same context, Brigadier General Tariq Al-Shafi’i, Acting Military Advisor for Fayoum Governorate, spoke about the role of the Popular and Military Defense Forces in developing national awareness among young people, through military education programs and participation in community initiatives, stressing their role in supporting national security and enhancing the spirit of belonging.
Dr. Khaled Al-Qubaisi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Fayoum, stressed that protecting the nation is a shared responsibility that begins with the behavior of the individual, stressing that awareness represents the cornerstone of building a strong society, with the importance of the role of the family and the school in instilling national values, developing students’ awareness, and motivating them to think positively and participate in volunteer work.
The meeting concluded by opening the door to dialogue with the youth, where their opinions and suggestions were listened to on a number of issues, which contributes to raising their level of awareness of the challenges facing the nation, and enhancing their spirit of loyalty and belonging.
