A lottery ceremony will be held today, SundayAfrican Club Championship Women’s volleyball at the Al-Ahly club headquarters, hosted by the Red Castle halls during the period from 11 to 24 April, amid intense organizational preparations to receive the continental event.

The tournament will be held with the participation of 23 teams from various African countries, under the supervision of the organizing committee headed by Mohamed Al-Ghazawi, a member of Al-Ahly’s board of directors, and Ahmed Hossam Awad, vice-chairman of the committee, after completing all arrangements for receiving delegations and preparing the halls.

Participating in the tournament are: Al-Ahly Club (Egypt), Gender Light (Burundi), Laloy, Congo Eagles and Vita Club (DR Congo), Descartes Sports (Ivory Coast), Leto and Mayo Kani Evolution (Cameroon), Alcohol (Ethiopia), Paving (Guinea), Commercial Bank and Pipes and the Investigations Directorate Team (Kenya), Customs and Vipers (Nigeria), Police and Army (Rwanda), Sokosim (Senegal). Carthage (Tunisia), Kampala Capital Authority (Uganda), Green Buffaloes and Leopards (Zambia).

Sporting Club notified the Egyptian Volleyball Federation of its official apology for not participating without giving reasons, while Zamalek Club, the holder of the title in the last three editions, also apologized, leaving Al-Ahly to remain the sole representative of Egyptian women’s volleyball in the tournament.
