The elections witness a competition between 19 candidates for the seat of the General Syndicate of Engineers, as Law No. 66 of 1974 requires that the winning candidate obtain an absolute majority (50% + 1) of the valid votes. If this is not achieved, a runoff will be held on Friday, March 13th.

Dr. Ahmed Fawzi, Chairman of the Cairo Engineers Syndicate Elections Committee, confirmed the readiness of the committee’s main headquarters at Cairo International Stadium to receive the largest voting bloc, noting that all facilities have been provided to ensure the smooth flow of movement within the committees. The elections are held in 36 electoral headquarters nationwide, which include 302 subcommittees, and operate with an electronic registration system to speed up the procedures for verifying the data of 956,000 engineers who have the right to vote.
