Controversy has reignited over the health condition of US President Donald Trump After visible swelling appeared in his ankles during his last appearance at the White House, which sparked widespread comments on social media.
Donald Trump’s swollen ankles again raise questions about his health
According to media reports, the condition of Trump’s feet attracted attention while he was walking on the White House lawn after returning from a weekend trip to Florida, where he appeared greeting reporters as he got off Marine One.
Although he appeared wearing a formal blue suit and gave a thumbs-up to those present, many observers focused on his ankles, which appeared noticeably swollen.
Trump’s pictures spread quickly on the “X” platform, where a number of users commented on the appearance of his ankles, considering that the swelling appeared very evident.
The comments varied between concern and sarcasm, as some followers believed that the appearance might indicate a health problem, while others used the matter to make political commentary or mock the president.
Trump’s health condition is under increasing scrutiny, especially since he is considered the oldest American president to hold office in the history of the United States, as he is currently 79 years old.
In previous reports, sources inside the White House indicated that Trump prefers to hold some meetings or events in the Oval Office or in meeting rooms rather than standing for long periods.
It was also reported that during one of the meetings with European leaders, he chose to sit behind the “Resolute” desk in the Oval Office, which some interpreted as an attempt to avoid showing his swollen ankles in front of the cameras.
Trump had previously been informed that he had what is known as chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that may cause swelling in the legs and ankles due to poor blood flow in the veins.
In a previous interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump said he was using medical compression stockings to help relieve swelling, but he stopped wearing them because he was uncomfortable with them.
