Gholamreza Rezaei, Vice President of the organization, said that about 30,672 pilgrims will head to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via land trips, where they will be transported from their cities to Medina, passing through Iraq and the Arar border crossing, within organized convoys with a new structure, provided that the return trip will also take place by land after performing the rituals.

Rezaei explained, in a statement published Tasnim Agency, that the program is…Within the stopover in the holy cities of Iraq, pilgrims will be able to spend one night in Karbala or Najaf during their return journey.

He added that the length of stay of pilgrims in Medina will be extended to 6 nights and 7 days, with the aim of allowing pilgrims a longer time there.

This came in light of the continuing war between Iran, the United States of America, and Israel, and the exchange of missile strikes between them.

It is noteworthy that the Iranian government rejected an American ceasefire proposal, which included giving up control of the Strait of Hormuz, and instead mobilized thousands of additional forces in the region, in anticipation of any possible military movements aimed at seizing control of this extremely important strategic shipping lane.
