This morning, the administration of Al-Arish Sea Port closed the port to the entry and exit of ships due to bad weather conditions, increased wind speeds, high waves, and a very turbulent state in the Mediterranean Sea.
Closure of Al-Arish seaport due to bad weather conditions
The administration announced that the port was closed after a state of instability in the Mediterranean Sea, as it witnessed a state of sea turbulence and high waves, indicating that the port will be reopened after the weather conditions improve, the sea condition stabilizes, and the waves decrease.
Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the General Meteorological Authority, warned that the country was exposed to a state of instability in weather conditions, starting in the early hours of Friday, and continuing throughout the day.
Dr. Manar Ghanem said in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that the turmoil in the atmosphere is the result of the country being affected by a deep depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere, coinciding with a superficial depression on the surface of the Mediterranean Sea, which leads to the emergence of a number of weather phenomena affecting most parts of the country.
Air navigation disturbance
Manar Ghanem explained: This weather condition is accompanied by strong wind activity in most governorates, with speeds ranging between 40 to 60 kilometers per hour, and in some areas, especially in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, it may reach about 70 kilometers per hour, which leads to severe disturbance in maritime navigation traffic.
