Major General Mohamed Al-Zamlot, Matrouh Governorate, announced the start of implementation of the plan to close the scrapyards located within the residential block in the city of Marsa Matrouh, before next May, as part of efforts to improve the cultural appearance and preserve the environment and public health.
He stressed that suitable alternatives will be provided outside the city to transport scrap collection and storage activities, ensuring the continuation of the work of the owners of these activities without harming citizens or affecting the aesthetic appearance of the city, especially with the preparations for the summer season and the reception of vacationers.
The governor indicated that he will follow up on the implementation of the decision and ensure compliance with it, while taking the necessary legal measures against violators.
