A delegation from Zamalek Club, including Hussein Labib, club president, engineer Hisham Nasr, vice president of the club, and Hani Barzi and Hussein Al-Sayed, members of the board of directors, were keen to attend the funeral of the late Fahmi Omar, which was held at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed.

Broadcaster Fahmy Omar is considered one of the pillars of the golden era of Egyptian radio. He is the “Sheikh of Broadcasters” whose voice was linked to defining moments in the history of Egypt and the Arab world. He spent 37 years working in radio, during which he rose through the ranks and left an unforgettable mark, including presenting the program An Hour for Your Heart, which was credited with shining among famous comedy stars in Egypt.
Earlier, the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club was keen to mourn the great broadcaster, as it said in an official statement: Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, members of the board of directors, and the executive management mourn with great sadness and sorrow the great radio broadcaster, Fahmi Omar, who passed away today, praying to the Lord – Almighty – that the deceased’s mercy be filled with His mercy, that he enter his spacious paradise, and that he inspires the honorable family patience and solace.
