While the security services and ambulance teams began dealing with the accident immediately after it occurred, sadness fell over the families of the victims who were surprised by the shocking news.

10 workers were killed in the horrific Port Said accident… and an eyewitness: The trailer ran over everyone | private

Muhammad Abu al-Naja, an eyewitness to the accident, said in exclusive statements to Sada al-Balad website that the incident began while a heavy truck (trailer) stopped on the side of the road to repair a tire, and immediately behind it a quarter truck carrying a number of fishermen stopped for the same purpose.

He added that everyone was standing next to the sidewalk in a fixed position, before they were surprised by a trailer with a trailer coming from behind at great speed.

Abu Al-Naga explained that the driver was unable to control the vehicle, so he collided with the two parked cars and ran over them, which led to one person rushing away from the collision site, while another was found among the body parts.

He pointed out that some of the injured were still breathing moments after the accident, and one of them sat injured until the ambulance arrived, but the injuries were very severe.

The eyewitness confirmed that the victims were standing in the middle of the distance between the two parked cars, and that the force of the collision pushed the speeding vehicle to climb on top of them, resulting in their immediate death. He added that the trailer driver remained alive for about half an hour, but no one was able to extricate him due to the severity of the wreckage.

Abu Al-Naga stressed that the fault lies with the trailer driver, who was driving at an insane speed despite the presence of cars parked next to the sidewalk and the rest of the lane in which he was supposed to walk, which is what caused the disaster.

The remains of the victims fill the place and first aid procedures are carried out

He described the scene as “beyond description,” saying that the scene was shocking to an unbearable extent, as the remains of the victims were scattered in the place, and the people were forced to use first aid bags to collect the remains in light of the delay in the arrival of the rest of the ambulances, as only one car arrived at the beginning.

He added that one of the ambulance crew members could not bear the horror of the scene and vomited, while the other tried to deal with the situation and transport the remaining bodies, amidst a state of astonishment and sadness among those present.
