Dr. Amr Mostafa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia, conducted a field visit to Sadr Menouf Hospital to inspect the cardiothoracic surgery department that is scheduled to operate during the coming period in cooperation with civil society, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Major General Amr Al-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia, regarding raising the efficiency and quality of medical services.
During the tour, the Undersecretary followed up with Dr. Ihab Al-Najjar, Director of the Hospital, on the executive position of the required equipment, stressing the speedy completion of the infrastructure and medical equipment in preparation for operating the department, stressing that the department will contribute to reducing waiting lists, alleviating the burden on patients and their families, and reducing transfers to hospitals outside the governorate, thus saving time and effort and ensuring speedy medical intervention in critical cases.
The Undersecretary indicated that the project comes with support from civil society worth 10 million pounds, stressing that the partnership between the Directorate of Health Affairs and civil society is an honorable model for community cooperation and support for the health sector, and includes advanced equipment in the operating room, intensive care support devices, and specialized surgical crews for arterial and valve surgeries and delicate interventions.
The Undersecretary, Dr. Mohamed Salama, directed the director of the therapeutic department in the directorate, to determine the final needs and set a clear timetable for completing the equipment, stressing the directorate’s keenness to provide an advanced and safe medical service worthy of the people of Menoufia, within the directorate’s strategy to enhance subspecialties and improve the quality of health care in accordance with the directives of the political leadership in all centers of the governorate.
