The company explained, in a statement issued on Wednesday, that it is closely following developments and coordinating continuously with the competent authorities, noting the continued implementation of enhanced safety and security measures in various parts of the port. The statement added that the safety and well-being of employees, customers and partners is a top priority.

This clarification comes at a time when companies operating in the UAE have begun issuing periodic updates regarding their operations, to reassure markets and investors in light of the continuing military tensions in the region, which include the United States, Israel and Iran.

Last Sunday, Dubai authorities confirmed that debris resulting from an air interception operation caused a fire to break out at one of Jebel Ali Port’s docks. Civil defense teams responded quickly and dealt with the incident, while efforts continued to ensure complete extinguishing of the fire.

Jebel Ali Port is the largest port in the Middle East, and represents a major gateway for trade movement between Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas, as its four terminals handle more than 15 million TEUs annually, in addition to large quantities of bulk shipments, general cargo and ro-ro vessels.
