A number of university leaders led Alexandria Funeral prayers at the Faculty of Engineering for Dr. Essam Ahmed Salem, former president of Alexandria University and former governor of Alexandria, today, Thursday, in addition to his family and a number of lovers, after performing the afternoon prayer.
Details of the funeral prayer for Dr. Essam Salem
The mourners were presented by Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, Dr. Wael Al-Maghlani, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Dr. Afaf Al-Awafi, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Rushdi Zahran, former President of Alexandria University.
After that, the family and the leaders of Alexandria University received condolences before the body was transferred to the burial place of the rich man in the Manara Cemetery.
It is worth noting that Dr. Essam Ahmed Salem is considered one of the prominent academic and administrative leaders, and his career was distinguished by continuous national giving, as he held many high-ranking positions that contributed to enhancing academic and professional performance, most notably the former Governor of Alexandria and the former President of Alexandria University, in addition to his scientific and academic contributions as a professor of mechanical engineering, and his role in developing the educational process and community service.
Dr. Essam Salem assumed the presidency of Alexandria University from 1992 to 1999, and Dr. Essam Sharaf, the former Prime Minister, appointed him as Governor of Alexandria, from April 2011 to August 2011.
Earlier, Alexandria University, headed by Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, mourned the Acting President of Alexandria University, with great sadness and sorrow, Dr. Essam Ahmed Salem.
