President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, received a phone call from Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, Prime Minister of Iraq, where the call discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing a number of regional issues and developments of common interest.
During the call, the Iraqi Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s keenness to support his country and its support for the security and stability of Iraq, praising Cairo’s positions in support of Iraq and other Arab countries in facing the current challenges.
For his part, President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s firm position rejecting any attack on Iraq or any Arab country, stressing the need to respect the sovereignty of countries and not to infringe on their lands, and affirming Egypt’s full support for the security and stability of Iraq.
The two sides also stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between Egypt and Iraq, which contributes to supporting security and stability in the region and enhancing joint Arab action to confront the current regional challenges.
