The leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation continued its intensive field tours for the third day in a row during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, in order to ensure strict control over the agricultural area and follow up on the condition of the crops, in implementation of the assignments of Mr. Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, of the necessity of continuous field presence throughout the holiday period.
Dr. Ahmed Adham, Head of the Cooperatives, Directorates and Training Sector and Supervisor of Land Protection, accompanied by Dr. Hossam Rashed, Head of the Central Administration for Land Protection, and Dr. Mohamed Shata, Head of the Central Administration for District Affairs, inspected the work of land protection and the removal of encroachments in the Gharbia and Menoufia Governorates. A major removal campaign was also followed up in the Mahalla El Kubra Center in Gharbia Governorate, and immediate removal decisions were implemented in the cradle, in the presence of the governorate’s executive leadership and security services.
The visit included following up on the work of the “Mahallet Rouh” Association in the Tanta Center, to ensure work discipline, the availability of agricultural supplies, and the commitment of land protection employees to work shifts during Eid, as well as following up on agriculture in the two governorates, ensuring the regularity of fertilizer dispensing operations, and providing the necessary support to farmers.
The Ministry’s leaders continued to implement a campaign to remove encroachments on agricultural lands in Menoufia Governorate, in coordination with the executive and security agencies, to block the way for any attempt to exploit the Eid holiday in violation of the law. The efforts of the Directorate of Agriculture in confronting the land protection file, continuous follow-up, and workflow in operating rooms were also followed up.
In a related context, Dr. Mohamed Shata, Head of the Central Administration for District Affairs, conducted inspection tours in the governorates of Dakahlia and Damietta, focusing on following up on the various crops, especially wheat, where the general condition of the crops was checked, and directions were given to provide all aspects of technical support and field guidance to farmers to ensure high productivity and protect them from any infections at this stage.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Adham, head of the cooperatives sector and supervisor of land protection at the Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed that the operating rooms of all the central departments in the sector and the agricultural directorates are working around the clock throughout the vacation period to ensure strict control and real-time field follow-up for all governorates, with the aim of dealing decisively with any attempts to encroach on the agricultural land and remove them in the cradle in coordination with the executive and security agencies, pointing out that the field tours aim to ensure the discipline of work in agricultural associations and the availability of all supplies and technical support for farmers. He also stressed that protecting land and improving crop productivity represents a top priority that cannot be compromised to ensure food security is maintained.
For his part, Dr. Hossam Rashed, Head of the Central Administration for Land Protection, confirmed that the administration’s engineers and inspectors continued traffic for the third day in a row, as the field traffic and real-time follow-up rounds included the governorates of: Qena, Sohag, Beni Suef, Fayoum, Giza, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Gharbia, and Sharqia, pointing out that the technical teams are working in full coordination with the governorates’ operating rooms to monitor any attempts to initiate illegal construction on agricultural lands, and stressed that The directives issued to all engineers in the land protection sector stipulate that they deal with any infringement, and implement immediate removal in the cradle before the violation escalates, to ensure the preservation of the agricultural area that represents Egypt’s food security. He added that oversight continues around the clock until the end of the vacation period and the return of regular work.
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Shata, Head of the Central Administration for District Affairs, said that the administration continued its intensive efforts throughout the days of Eid al-Fitr to follow up on the progress of work in all agricultural directorates across the republic, pointing out that the operations and crisis rooms in the directorates are in permanent session throughout the holiday period and around the clock, to intervene immediately and solve any emergency problems facing farmers, noting that there is a special focus on following up on the condition of strategic winter crops, especially in light of the current weather fluctuations, to ensure their protection and maintain their productivity, and he explained that the teams The field continues to visit the crops to ensure the regularity of the fertilizer disbursement system and the availability of all agricultural production requirements, while providing technical support and implementing the necessary guidance recommendations for farmers in the fields, as part of the Ministry’s strategy to enhance national food security and the stability of the agricultural system during holiday periods.
