The German Embassy in Cairo thanked the people of the Matareya area, after a team from the embassy participated in Group Ramadan iftarwhich is considered one of the largest popular breakfast tables in Egypt, praising the warm reception and spirit of generosity that characterize the residents of the region.

The embassy said, in a post, that its team participated in the iftar atmosphere amid a state of solidarity and community spirit, expressing its happiness to participate in this event that brings people together around one table during the month of Ramadan.

The embassy added jokingly: The stuffed meat we made with our own hands yesterday turned out to be delicious in its hands and life in its eyes, extending special thanks to the people of Matariya for their generous hospitality and beautiful spirit, and to everyone who contributed to organizing this iftar.

She pointed out that collective Iftar tables are also held in many German cities, especially in areas with large numbers of Muslims, where mosques and community institutions invite various groups to participate in Iftar, whether Muslims or non-Muslims, with the aim of promoting acquaintance and cultural exchange.

The embassy pointed out that the diversity of the origins of Muslims in Germany, who come from countries such as Turkey, Arab countries, and the Balkan countries, is reflected in the iftar tables there, which are characterized by a wide variety of foods, from soups and rice dishes to traditional bread and sweets.

The embassy concluded its publication by emphasizing that the month of Ramadan brings people together around one table, whether in Egypt or in Germany.
