The UAE Capital Market Authority announced on Sunday the suspension of trading in the Abu Dhabi Securities Market and the Dubai Financial Market on Monday and Tuesday, according to what was reported by Reuters.
The closure of the markets comes in the wake of Iranian attacks on Abu Dhabi and Dubai in response to the American and Israeli strikes on Iran.
Suspension of trading on the Kuwait Stock Exchange
The Kuwait Stock Exchange announced this morning, Sunday, the suspension of trading, starting today, March 1, until further notice, based on the decision of the Board of Commissioners of the Capital Markets Authority, and in view of the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through.
The decision comes with the aim of protecting the interests of investors, establishing the principle of market fairness, and ensuring the integrity of trading, in order to achieve the highest levels of transparency and discipline in managing the current stage.
The Capital Markets Authority confirmed in a statement that it continues to closely follow developments and monitor the situation on an ongoing basis to take the necessary measures according to developments.
Yesterday, Saturday, countries in the region, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan, were subjected to Iranian missile attacks, following the Israeli-American attack on Tehran that caused the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Arab media reported that sirens sounded yesterday, Saturday, in the State of Kuwait, as mutual attacks between America and Israel against Iran continued.
Meanwhile, the Bahrain News Agency reported that the Kingdom’s airspace would continue to be closed as a temporary precaution.
In the wake of the war on Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the attacks destroyed the headquarters of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran and he no longer exists, and there are indications that he was killed.
Netanyahu continued in a speech about Iran: Trump was the one who led this move against Iran, and more patience is required. I thank Trump for his historic leadership, and this war will lead to peace, but the Iranian regime must not remain after today.
