Dalal Karam, the ex-wife of the late Ziad Rahbani, passed away this morning from our world after a struggle with lung tumors, less than a year after Rahbani’s passing.
The Lebanese journalist, Ricardo Karam, announced the news of the death through his Instagram account, and wrote: I just learned that Dalal had moved to the world of truth at six o’clock this morning, after a struggle with lung cancer that she fought for five years, leaving her son Assi. With this departure, Ziad Rahbani’s words come back to mind, simple and profound at the same time: (The spoiler’s breeders raised you and tortured you, Dalal…and we went to talk to your father and you. I wish you were there and saw what your father said.. In any case, I mean in all circumstances.. I am grateful to your father. I am grateful for the reception)… As if it sums up a whole story, that was told spontaneously one day, and remained.. Ziad is gone.. Dalal is gone.. but what was written between them, in a moment of sincerity, will remain through songs that will be passed down through the generations.
The passing of Ziad Rahbani
Ziad Rahbani passed away from our world last July 2025, and Fayrouz appeared affected by the loss of her son, leaning on some of those close to her, amid an atmosphere dominated by sadness and tears inside the funeral hall, and a number of prominent figures were keen to offer their condolences, led by former Lebanese President Michel Aoun and the artist Elissa.
