A student who plays video games for 4 days straight suffers a brain hemorrhage

Video game addiction is a growing problem that affects the lives of millions of young people around the world, and in extreme cases it can be fatal. A Taiwanese nurse recently shared the case of a college student who suffered a ruptured cerebral artery after playing video games for four straight days.

Taiwanese ICU resident, Lin Ting, revealed that one student literally spent every moment of his free days in front of a screen, which led to dire consequences.

Despite his mother’s persistent attempts to persuade him to turn off the computer and take a break, the young man continued to play an electronic game almost continuously, with short breaks to go to the bathroom and eat a snack. After 4 days and 3 nights of playing, the young man collapsed.

According to the boy’s mother, he tried to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but suddenly screamed in pain and fell to the ground unconscious. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a ruptured cerebral artery, causing severe bleeding.

Doctors performed emergency surgery to save the young man’s life. The student became dependent on life support and needed medications to raise his blood pressure. His family remained hopeful that he would wake up one day, but after several months, they made the painful decision to let him go.
