Fatima Adel, a member of the House of Representatives from the Justice Party, revealed the preparation of a proposal to amend some provisions of the law Personal statusIt includes linking the father’s right to see his children with the obligation to pay alimony, in addition to setting clear controls to regulate the father’s hosting of his children.
A proposal to amend the Personal Status Law
The representative explained, in television statements, that the proposal also includes temporarily withdrawing custody from the mother if she is prevented from seeing her for a period ranging between 6 months and a year, or if the abstinence is repeated twice in a row or four intermittent times.
She added that the proposed amendments include rearranging custody so that the father takes second place, as well as developing the current vision system to achieve a balance between the rights of the father and mother and the interest of the child.
She indicated that the proposal also aims to facilitate litigation procedures in personal status cases, stressing that the draft law is scheduled to be submitted during this month.
