Today, Wednesday, the city of St. Catherine witnessed a moderate turnout of tourists visiting the religious sanctities and spiritual and natural landmarks of the city.

381 tourists and visitors of multiple nationalities
Ibrahim Abdel Halim, Director General of Public Relations and Media in the city, explained to Cairo 24 that the city of St. Catherine received 381 tourists and visitors today, Wednesday, including 3 Egyptians and 378 foreign tourists from several countries, most notably Russia, Germany, Vietnam, India, Spain, in addition to 20 tourists from America.

The number of people who climbed Mount Moses reached 196 tourists and visitors (including 3 Egyptians), to watch the sunrise from the highest mountain peaks, while 185 visitors, not including Egyptians, visited St. Catherine Monastery to see its religious sanctities.

Cold during the day and frost at night

Today, Wednesday, the city recorded a noticeable drop in temperatures, with the maximum reaching 11 degrees Celsius during the day, while it dropped to two degrees at night, with frost forming on the mountaintops. Despite the extremely cold weather, the city continues to receive increasing numbers of tourists wishing to experience climbing the mountain on foot or on camelback.

Colorful valleys and the Bedouin experience

After completing the climbing trip, visitors head to the colorful valleys and St. Catherine Reserve, in addition to visiting the rest house of the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, learning about the Bedouin lifestyle, camping areas, and buying medicinal herbs and Sinai and Bedouin artifacts.
