The investigating authorities in Suez Governorate decided to release the groom accused of causing a fire in a residential unit in the El-Mellaha area, after setting off fireworks during the wedding, which resulted in the death of a neighbor, with a financial bail of 30 thousand pounds pending the case.

The details of the incident go back to mid-February, when a fire broke out inside a residential tower in the Navigation District as a result of the launch of fireworks, sparklers, during a wedding procession, which led to a fire in one of the residential units and the smoke spreading to the rest of the floors.

The security services of the Suez Security Directorate were able to arrest the groom immediately after the incident, after reviewing the surveillance cameras surrounding the incident, which recorded the launch of fireworks simultaneously with the ignition of the fire.

The accident resulted in the death of Issam Abdel Aziz, a retired bank manager, as a result of suffocation as a result of rising smoke. The necessary legal measures were taken regarding the incident, while the investigating authorities continue to complete investigations to determine the full circumstances of the accident.
