The US Geological Survey reported that an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale occurred off the coast of the island of Tonga in the Pacific Ocean, in the early hours of Tuesday.

In the same context, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center stated that the earthquake occurred in the Tonga region at 04:37:49.6 UTC time, at a depth of 218 kilometers, 273 kilometers northwest of Nuku’alofa, and 158 kilometers west of West Neafu.
The report indicated that no tsunami warnings are expected at the present time, given the depth of the epicenter.
