The Beheira Consumer Protection Agency branch, headed by Major General Ahmed Al-Husseini, launched a massive monitoring campaign in coordination with the Beheira Supply Directorate, headed by Mohamed Hadiya, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, targeting the cities of Damanhour and West Nubariya, within the framework of intensifying monitoring campaigns on markets, tightening control over prices, and preventing any monopolistic or exploitative practices that harm the rights of citizens, in a way that achieves discipline and is in the interest of the consumer public.

9,500 liters of diesel and 3 tons of fertilizer of unknown origin were seized during campaigns in Beheira

The campaign resulted in the seizure of 34 various items, as follows: the seizure of 2 tons of fortified urea fertilizers and one ton of agricultural sulfur fertilizers of unknown origin, and the seizure of 8,000 liters of diesel of unknown origin loaded on a car, and 1,500 liters of diesel of unknown origin were seized inside two gas stations.

In addition, 19 reports were issued for failure to advertise prices in various commercial stores, 7 reports were issued for failure to keep invoices proving the source of the goods offered, and 3 electrical appliance maintenance centers operating without a license were seized, with misleading advertisements and providing services that did not comply with requirements.

For her part, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, stressed the necessity of continuing monitoring campaigns in all cities and centers of the governorate, to control markets and address any violations, while taking legal measures against violators.

The Consumer Protection Agency also calls on all companies, shops, chains, and service centers to adhere to the laws and regulations, and not to engage in any monopolistic or exploitative practices, to avoid exposure to legal accountability.
