Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, followed up on the repercussions of the traffic accident that occurred Thursday morning, in Menoufia Governorate, following a collision between a semi-truck carrying people and a transport vehicle on the (Sadat – Menouf) road, which resulted in the death of 9 citizens and the injury of 3 others, according to the follow-up report issued by the main control center of the Central Administration for Emergency and Critical Care.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the ambulance authority sent 10 equipped ambulances to the site of the accident immediately after receiving the report, where the injured were transferred to Sadat Central Hospital, while 8 deaths were transferred to Sadat Central Hospital, and one death case was transferred to Menouf General Hospital.
He pointed out that the three injured people are receiving the necessary medical care at Sadat Central Hospital, where two cases have been detained in intensive care and one in the inpatient department, and all of them are under close observation.
Raising the level of preparedness in all surrounding hospitals
The official spokesman pointed out that the Minister directed to raise the level of preparedness in all surrounding hospitals, and to provide all means of medical and therapeutic care for the injured, with an emphasis on providing the necessary medical and psychological support, and to follow up on their health condition until complete recovery.
He added that the Minister of Health and Population assigned his deputy, Dr. Amr Qandil, to visit the injured, and also assigned the rapid deployment teams to be present at the site of the accident and coordinate with the relevant state agencies to ensure speedy dealing with the repercussions of the accident, and to ensure the availability of medicines, medical supplies, and blood bags for all factions.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar extends his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased, praying to God Almighty to shower them with His vast mercy, and to inspire their families with patience and solace, expressing his sincere wishes for a speedy recovery for all those injured.
