The Esna Center Supply Department was launched in the Governorate Luxor An inspection campaign to control violations and ensure the quality and safety of goods provided to citizens, within the framework of tightening food control over municipal markets and bakeries.

Intensive campaigns to control markets in Esna

This campaign comes in implementation of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Engineer Abdel Muttalib Emara, Governor of Luxor, and Engineer Abdel Razek Mohamed El Safi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in the governorate.

Details of violations and seizures

The campaign led by Ahmed Taha, Director of the Esna Supply Department, resulted in the arrest of 11 various catering violations.

The control teams were able to raid an unlicensed store, where 34 cartons of Lolita children’s candy were seized, each carton containing 60 pieces, with a total of 2,040 pieces of unknown origin.

In a related context, the campaign monitored other violations in the markets, including issuing 8 reports for not announcing the prices of goods offered to the public.

Supervision of municipal bakeries and strict procedures

The campaign was not limited to commercial markets, but extended to include municipal bakeries to ensure that support reaches those who deserve it with the required quality.

The inspection resulted in the arrest of a bakery for producing bread that did not comply with legal specifications, in addition to issuing a violation to another bakery due to the low level of cleanliness of the kneading tools.

All seized items were seized, the necessary reports were prepared, and the facts were referred to the competent authorities to take the appropriate legal procedures.
