The Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Gharbia Governorate, under the supervision of Dr. Nima Arif, Undersecretary of the Directorate, launched intensive inspection campaigns in coordination with the Supply Department and the Supply Investigation Department at the Kafr El-Zayat Center, which resulted in the seizure of 1,500 kg of herring and 28 kg of poultry unfit for human consumption.
1,500 kg of herring and 28 kg of poultry unfit for consumption were seized in Kafr El-Zayat in intensive campaigns.
Three reports were issued for violators, and the necessary legal measures were taken regarding the detected violations, within the framework of tightening control over markets to preserve the health of citizens.
Intensive campaigns in Gharbia
This comes in implementation of the directives of Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Muti, Governor of Gharbia, on the necessity of intensifying monitoring campaigns on markets and confronting spoiled goods of unknown origin.
For her part, Dr. Nima Arif, Undersecretary of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Gharbia, confirmed the continuation of daily campaigns in cooperation with the concerned authorities, to control any violations affecting food safety, stressing that violators will not be tolerated and that deterrent legal measures will be taken to ensure safe food reaches citizens.
