Engineer Amr Lashin gave governors Aswan His instructions to the officials of the Supply Directorate, led by Engineer Muhammad Abu Al-Hassan, Director of the Directorate, and its sub-departments, to intensify monitoring and inspection campaigns on salted fish trading markets, from warehouses, processing places, and display and sale shops on the occasion of Sham El Nessim, with the aim of determining on the ground the commitment of the owners of these activities to the ration laws and decisions related to announcing prices, and preventing any unjustified exaggeration, while taking into account the safety and quality of the products to preserve the public health of citizens.

The Supply Directorate, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Engineer Amr Lashin, Governor of Aswan, in conjunction with the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine and the National Food Safety Authority, intensified campaigns on places where salted fish is traded, and stressed the necessity of full compliance with the controls and decisions regarding its circulation, with an emphasis on taking deterrent legal measures against violators.

A number of violations were monitored and issued while passing through 24 establishments, including failure to announce prices, lack of health certificates, and selling expired goods. A quantity of 120 kilograms of salted fish unfit for human consumption was destroyed by food inspectors.

The seized items were seized at the headquarters of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade until the Public Prosecution’s decision was received regarding them. Legal measures were also taken regarding the violations by presenting them to the competent Deputy Public Prosecutor for review and review, and guidance on what must be taken.
