The first official auction for distinctive short numbers, organized by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, witnessed participation and a large turnout from more than 30 major companies and institutions in the Egyptian market.
The auction resulted in the allocation of distinctive numbers, such as 999 – 777 – 225 – 777000, with competitive values that reflect their marketing importance and their ability to enhance ease of access to various services, through an organized and transparent electronic mechanism on the agency’s official Auctions platform.

The auction comes within the framework of the Authority’s commitment to applying the best regulatory practices in managing the numbering resource in a way that ensures the optimal use of numbers and keeps pace with market and institutional requirements. It also reflects the growing confidence of the financial and business community in the regulatory mechanisms adopted by the Authority to achieve transparency and fair competition.
The first electronic platform of its kind in the Egyptian market
The agency confirmed that the launch of the Auctions platform represents the first electronic platform of its kind in the Egyptian market, aiming to provide short and distinct numbers to customer service centers, thus providing large and small companies with the opportunity to compete for three- and six-digit numbers.
This platform contributes to developing call centers, enhancing communication efficiency, supporting the corporate image of companies in various sectors, and consolidating Egypt’s position as a regional and global center for call center services.
