GMKtec has launched its new K17 mini desktop computer for pre-order in the Chinese market, offering an economical option for users. This compact device is based on the Core Ultra 5 226V processor, which is considered an entry-level and economical option within the advanced Lunar Lake series of processors from Intel, with 16 GB of RAM to provide stable performance at prices starting from 3799 Chinese yuan, equivalent to about 551 US dollars.

This new computer is considered a slimmed-down and less expensive version of the K13 computer that GMKtec launched previously, which is based on the most powerful Core Ultra 7 256V processor in the same series. The new version includes an integrated graphics processing unit of the Arc 130V type that belongs to the economic category, and reference tests indicate that other graphics processors such as the Radeon 780M can provide better graphics performance than them to meet the needs of users more broadly.

The device compensates for this decline in graphic performance by providing support for connecting external graphics cards via the advanced USB4 port to meet the requirements of gamers. Although the full configuration of the ports has not been officially revealed yet, the company has confirmed support for image output to three screens via the USB4 port and two HDMI ports, while the promotional images indicate the presence of five USB-A ports and an Ethernet port for wired Internet networks.

All models of this computer come with 16 GB of LPDDR5X random access memory, as GMKtec does not offer any options for configurations with memory larger than this capacity. Regarding storage space, the pre-equipped options reach a maximum of 1 TB, while providing great flexibility for future upgrade through the presence of two M.2 slots that support very fast fifth-generation storage disks to accelerate data transfer.

This small computer features an elegant design that relies on precise metal finishes to ensure high durability in a very compact body. Additional notable features include support for quick, one-click deployment of OpenClaw with an efficient and stable cooling system. Although the device is currently available for pre-order within China, GMKtec has not shared any official details or specific dates about the possibility of launching it in global markets in the coming period.
