The iBasso DX340 high-resolution music player is now available, including a very limited titanium edition. Featuring two drivers and an interchangeable synthetic amplifier, the DX340 is designed to be particularly versatile, while the dual battery and FPGA chip are intended to provide better sound quality.

The iBasso DX340 flagship music player comes standard with a 486-gram stainless steel case, but the Titanium Limited Edition replaces that with CNC-milled titanium. The design is unusual even apart from the case material: by loosening two screws at the bottom, the AMP15 subwoofer unit can be removed and replaced with any iBasso AMP1x unit.

This allows users to customize the sound according to their preferences. The included unit already provides more than enough power for most headphones, with iBasso specifying 2,150 mW per channel at 32 ohms. The FPGA chip controls the digital to analog converter (DAC), which iBasso claims results in better sound quality. iBasso also promises flexibility with the operating system, giving users a choice between music-focused Mango OS and full Android 13, allowing access to third-party streaming apps.

The iBasso DX340 features a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 and an ARM chip. Qualcomm Snapdragon 665which is a popular choice for music players. This is accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage, the latter of which can be expanded via a microSD card reader. The music player has two batteries with a capacity of 4,000 mAh and 2,100 mAh. Separate power circuits are designed for digital and analog components to improve sound quality. The batteries provide up to eleven hours of music playback.

Price and Availability The iBasso DX340 Titanium Limited Edition is available now from iBasso Audio and HiFi Passion for around €1,790, but is limited to just 300 units worldwide. This makes the Limited Edition €200 more expensive than the regular iBasso DX340.
