Pygmy unveiled an innovative phone that features two screens in one device to provide a unique user experience. This version comes as the first phone in the world to combine a color e-ink screen on one side and an LCD screen on the other side, allowing users to make the most of the benefits of both technologies together. Pygmy is famous for providing many devices based on e-ink technology, which include e-readers and phones.
E-ink screens offer the fundamental benefits of very low power consumption, as they consume power only when the displayed content changes if the backlight is turned off. These screens provide superior clarity and excellent readability even under direct sunlight and are very comfortable for the eyes when reading long texts, while the LCD screen handles moving content and video clips that are not compatible with the response speed of e-ink.
Although previous phones have had e-ink back screens, this device is considered the first to provide a color screen based on this technology. Pygmy has now limited itself to publishing a general teaser about this promising phone, with the ability for customers to register to receive notifications. It is expected that this dual design will contribute to displaying notifications permanently and saving energy, in addition to facilitating reading books and displaying boarding passes.
