Announce Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics About the amount of amounts disbursed within the social protection programs “Takaful” and “Karama” affiliated with the Ministry of Social Solidarity during the fiscal year 2023/2024, which amounted to about 32.6 billion pounds, which reflects the state’s continued efforts to support the most needy groups and strengthen the social safety network in Egypt.

The agency explained that the value of the amounts disbursed from the Karama program amounted to 13.1 billion pounds during the last fiscal year, benefiting about 1.8 million cases from the most needy families, including the elderly, people with disabilities, and beneficiaries of cash support to improve the standard of living.

While the total amounts disbursed from the Takaful program amounted to about 19.5 billion pounds, benefiting millions of families with school-age children, as part of efforts to enhance education, health and nutrition, and provide conditional cash support that aims to enable families to improve their quality of life, ensure that children continue in school, monitor their health and receive the necessary vaccinations.

The agency indicated that social protection programs represent a fundamental pillar of the state’s social policy, as the Ministry of Social Solidarity seeks to reduce the social gap, help the most needy groups cope with the burdens of living, and improve the level of services provided to them.

The Ministry stressed that these programs target economically and socially vulnerable groups, including poor families, people with disabilities, the elderly, and orphans, with a focus on achieving social justice and providing sustainable support that contributes to empowering citizens and integrating them into society effectively.

The Ministry of Solidarity relies on precise mechanisms to review beneficiary cases and ensure their eligibility, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, to ensure that support reaches those who deserve it in an optimal manner, while developing digital transformation systems to facilitate the follow-up of the disbursement of amounts in a transparent and effective manner.

Through these programs, the Ministry also seeks to improve the level of public services provided to families, including basic health care, nutritional support, and education programs for children, in addition to enhancing awareness of the rights of families and beneficiary groups within the social protection system.

These amounts come within the state’s plan to strengthen the social safety net and provide cash support to the most needy families, within the framework of a comprehensive vision to advance social justice and achieve sustainable development, ensuring a balance between supporting eligible groups and developing the national economy.
