Apple is preparing to launch the 2026 version of its famous iMac desktop computer with a renewed set of attractive colors, according to a report published by journalist Mark Gurman. He says that this upcoming device will feature a completely new range of colors, so that this change represents the first real and radical update to the color options of this elegant computer in a full five years.
The current design, which was introduced in 2021, is based on a distinctive two-tone color pattern, where the color appearance differs between the front and back of the device. The company uses a bold, saturated shade of the chosen color for the aluminum back cover and base, giving the device a striking appearance from the back, while the bottom edge under the screen features a light and calm shade of the same color to reduce visual distraction during use, while maintaining the screen frame in white in all models.
The version equipped with the M1 processor of this computer was available in seven different colors to suit all tastes, and this list included blue, green, pink, yellow, orange, purple and silver. The company continued to rely on this familiar color combination without any significant changes when it launched the latest version equipped with the M3 processor in 2023 to maintain the identity of the series.
The year 2024 witnessed a slight update by the company to the appearance of these colors to improve their appeal. Although it retained the same seven basic options, it made subtle adjustments to its shades, offering a more saturated blue, a brighter green, a more vibrant pink, a warmer yellow and a deeper orange, in addition to a darker shade of purple to renew the colors in the device’s design.
Technical expert Gorman expects that the new iMac computer will be launched in global markets after the unveiling of the updated versions of Mac Studio devices. Current expectations indicate that these powerful desktop devices will be available to users in mid-2026, thus continuing Apple’s journey in updating its lineup of personal computers and meeting the aspirations of fans of its brand.
