Tesla’s first electric pickup truck can now be had for half the original launch price of the Foundation Cyberpunk. With the new Cybertruck all-wheel drive specifications, Tesla learned its lesson from the unpopular rear-wheel drive version that was quickly discontinued.

When Tesla launched the Foundation Cyberbest series in late 2023, it was priced at $120,000, and there was a waiting list for orders worth billions of dollars.

Moving on to today, Tesla is selling the Cybertruck for half its original launch price with a new all-wheel-drive trim that doesn’t sacrifice as much as the rear-wheel-drive version that was released last year and later discontinued after just five months on the market.

Not only was the rear-wheel-drive 2025 Cybertruck more expensive than the 2026 all-wheel-drive version, it also lacked more features than Tesla’s latest attempt to revitalize stagnant Cybertruck sales.

The new Cybertruck 4WD trim is $20,000 cheaper than the now premium 4WD version, making it the cheapest Cybertruck Tesla has ever launched. The rear-wheel-drive Cybertruck was priced at $69,990, for example, and only the now-vacated federal tax credit brings it down to $62,490, which remains more expensive than the all-wheel-drive version for 2026.

It goes without saying that the new model lacks most of what the rear-wheel drive model lacked, namely air suspension, leather seats, and 20-inch wheels, but this time it includes a powered tonneau cover over the truck bed. It also comes with the same 123 kWh battery pack, giving it the same 325 miles of range, as well as the fastest charging powertrain in a Tesla thanks to the 800-volt architecture.

Just like last year, the 9.4-inch rear screen and rear light bar are gone, as are the cabin’s 120-volt outlets and trunk storage space. But Tesla kept the trunk’s 120-volt outlets, as well as all the other Cybertruck-exclusive features, like rear-wheel steering, a power trunk lid, fast charging, and power-sharing capabilities.

It remains to be seen whether the cheapest Cybertruck ever will gain more traction than Tesla’s previous attempts to revitalize its electric pickup truck line, whose sales are now just a footnote in another category in its financials.
