Despite the criticism directed at it, the Steam platform is more in favor of the buyer than its competitors, and with a new addition from Valve, purchasing games has become more affordable than ever. The company has added a new feature that automatically alerts users when a better discount is available within bundles.
Reddit user ShiraNamiNani explained that Steam now notifies players when the price of a game within a bundle is lower than its individual price during sales. In the example he shared on the Steam community, the player added Unrailed 2: Back on Track to the shopping cart, but the system detected that it was available at a lower price in the Unrailed Collection bundle, and directed him to the cheaper offer before completing the purchase.
The platform also relies on a smart system that deducts the price of any game the user previously owns from the total package price. In some cases, this costs less than purchasing the game individually, allowing money to be saved and spent later on other items on your wish list.

This new feature is currently limited to Bundles only, which has caused some confusion. Packages differ from Packages, as the latter maintains a fixed price even if the user owns some of its content, and no additional discount appears with them. With over 100,000 games on Steam, this addition makes it easier to find the best deals available.
Over the years, Valve has succeeded in winning the loyalty of a large segment of players thanks to its community-based approach. An open ratings and reviews system allows you to see what other players think about a new game, and forums provide extensive discussion of performance and technical issues. In addition, the return policy allows any game to be returned within two weeks as long as the playing time does not exceed two hours.
Despite concerns about some social aspects, such as some forum moderators accusing them of censorship practices or tolerating abusive behavior, many players still prefer the freedom of Steam compared to other platforms such as the Epic Games Store.
