Starlink is soon preparing to reintroduce its cheapest promotional plan to owners of the Mini dish for satellite internet on the go.
The Residential Lite plan version, which started at $40 per month, was only available for a short time, as a basic service in areas with limited coverage, and was limited to upload speeds of 100 Mbps.
Recently, Starlink removed this plan from its list of plans in the same regions, replacing it with the regular Residential Lite plan at $80 per month and 200Mbps upload speed, which partly explains the significant increase in coverage area for this plan.
However, the $40 per month plan is expected to return in a new form as a Roam option instead of the Residential plan, for Mini dish owners.

Currently, the cheapest Roam plan for the Mini dish costs $50 per month, with a 50GB data limit, while the unlimited Roam plan goes for $165 per month, which is quite high.
By offering a cheaper Roam plan, Starlink can increase the penetration of Mini Dish usage, and it is already taking additional measures to achieve this.
For example, the company has started offering a free Mini Dish with the Residential plan in select regions, ensuring customers can continue to use the service while traveling as well.
However, Starlink will not be offering the new cheaper plan to those who received the Mini Dish as a free rental with their Residential plan subscription, since they have already taken advantage of the 50% discount on Roam plan fees for several months.
For owners of Mini devices who have paid for it, the $40 plan will be ideal, especially since the maximum download speed of the dish is only 100 Mbps.
