Samsung introduced a new feature with the Galaxy S26 Ultra phone known as Privacy Display, which was the most prominent feature of its latest flagship phones. This feature allows the screen or sensitive information displayed on it to be hidden from prying eyes by integrating hardware and software. Not even a month had passed since this launch, and the company surprised us by showing off what is actually considered the second generation of the privacy screen during the exhibition’s activities.
During the event, the Android Authority team saw the updated privacy screen running on what appear to be prototypes of Samsung devices that look very similar to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This version allows you to hide a larger portion of the screen with great flexibility. In addition to the ability to hide the entire screen and sensitive information such as passwords and notifications, the additional advantage lies in the ability to customize a large portion of the screen to be hidden, while the rest of the content remains visible naturally.
The images shared by the site showed two devices, with half of the screen appearing hidden in one of them, while a little less than a third was hidden in the other device. However, it is unfortunate that Samsung confirmed to the site that this upgrade will be limited to new devices and will not be provided in the current Galaxy S26 Ultra phone, since it requires new internal components to function properly.
Despite this, one of the executives hinted that the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra phone may come equipped with this updated privacy screen. If true, the upcoming phone will be an important upgrade in the Galaxy S series, which has suffered from some stagnation recently. Recent reports also indicated that the company is conducting experiments on carbon-silicon batteries to be introduced in the new series, in addition to significant and noticeable upgrades in camera capabilities.
Moreover, another report claimed that the Vice President of Devices at Samsung Electronics stated that there is a plan for the company to move towards using Exynos processors in all its devices. Although there is no specific time frame to fully implement this transformation, it is very likely that the upcoming Galaxy S27 series will witness greater reliance on the processors that the company is developing internally to provide an integrated performance experience.
