Retroid has launched a new update for the Pocket G2 gaming phone despite the recent announcement of its discontinuation, in a move that confirms continued support for the device after its production ends.

Update No. 1.0.0.176 introduces a new feature known as Charge Separation, which allows the device to draw power directly from the charger instead of the battery when connected, which helps maintain battery health, especially during long gaming sessions or when used in docked mode.

The update also brings multiple improvements and fixes, including improving compatibility with services such as Netflix, addressing battery consumption in standby mode when using the dual-screen accessory, in addition to improving touch response and fixing some errors in the system interface and functions such as screenshot.

The charging disconnect feature can be easily activated from the quick settings menu after adding it manually, and the update can also be installed through the system settings via the updates section.
