During the launch event of its Find N6 phone, Oppo revealed remarkable superiority in foldable screen technologies, as it showcased its new phone with the concept of “no visible wrinkles” compared to competitors. To illustrate this, the company used the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 phone during the presentation to highlight the difference in practice.

During the event, Oppo showed a clip showing the Samsung phone inside its original box, then taken out and left folded for an hour. When opened later, the fold line appeared more clearly than when the box was opened.

On the other hand, Oppo reviewed the Find N6 phone after it had been folded for the same amount of time, so that it appeared almost without any noticeable wrinkles.

To achieve this result, Oppo relied on developing the hinge mechanism, in addition to using the Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass layer, which contributed to significantly reducing the appearance of the fold line.

The company also confirmed the phone’s ability to withstand up to 600,000 folding operations without a visible impact on the screen, while Samsung evaluates its Galaxy Z Fold 7 phone to withstand 500,000 folding operations, which is an evaluation that concerns the joint only and not the screen itself.

In terms of the battery, Oppo provided its phone with a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh with support for fast charging of 80 watts, superior to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 battery, which comes with a capacity of 4400 mAh.

Expectations also indicate that Samsung may work to improve its technologies in the future, whether by using similar batteries or increasing capacity in upcoming versions.
