The original OnePlus Open was released in 2023, and since then there has been silence about the second generation. The year 2024 passed without any announcement, and the matter was repeated in 2025, before recent leaks indicated that the company was finally planning to launch its new foldable phone during this year. However, according to the latest rumors, these plans were not completed, as it was decided to cancel the OnePlus Open 2 phone again.

According to the source, the phone was scheduled to be launched in July as OnePlus’ most prominent launch during the summer, but this plan was canceled at the last minute.

The information indicates that the phone had already reached advanced stages of testing before the decision to stop was taken, with talk here about the global version of OnePlus Open 2.

On the other hand, the same hardware is likely to be reused to launch the phone in the Chinese market under the name Oppo Find N6, and perhaps in other markets later.

However, the camera system may differ, as previous leaks talked about a 200MP camera for the Find N6, while the current rumor stated that the OnePlus Open 2 was going to come with three rear cameras with a resolution of 50MP each.

In terms of design and specifications, the phone, according to the leaks, would have a back with a luxurious black leather touch, with a body design inspired by the Huawei Mate X7. It will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with options of up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage capacity.

In terms of screens, it was said that the phone would have included a 6.6-inch external screen with a 32MP front camera, along with an 8.12-inch foldable internal screen with a 20MP selfie camera.

It was expected to be equipped with a 6000 mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, with support for a 165Hz refresh rate for both screens.
